The game began with Hull looking the more dominant side. After 10 minutes, they had already had 4 shots on goal, one of which was on target. Harchester were really behind.
In the 27th minute, Hull, still forging on, got their goal. A wonderful header into the bottom corner, leaving the keeper for dead. This style of play continued well on into the 40th minute, until, Hull's central midfielder was stretchered off. Hull played the rest of the half with 10 men. This was Harchester's chance, the broke down the middle and won a free kick on the edge of the box. A brilliant strike sent it into the top right hand corner, with the keeper no where near it.
 The half time whistle blew with the teams even a 1-1.

At the beginning of the second half, Hull won a free about 25 yards out from the United goal but sent the ball way over the bar. The resulting goal kick gave Harchester the ball at midway line, with a long, high ball into the box, the Harchester striker volleyed a wonder goal into the back of the Hull City goal.
Hull City still battered on, as they did in the first but where no where near as good, now that confidence had gone. The Harchester fans were chanting loud with minutes to go which gave United the confindence to go on and try for another. With 2 minutes remaining, Harchester had won a penalty, although the keeper saved it wonderfully.
This was the last chance of the game.
